Unu is an Android Tablet that Turns Your TV into a Smart Console "Android-powered consoles are an emerging point of focus in the game space. But where devices like Ouya and GameStick are geared primarily at creating a standalone gaming experience, the Unu is a tablet that turns your television into a smart TV. Launching in August, the Unu setup includes a 7-inch 1280 x 800 tablet running Android on a 1.6Ghz Rockchip quad-core processor. The device includes 8GB of storage, but is expandable via SD memory. At launch, you'll have the option of purchasing one of two bundles. The Media Edition is geared toward a more casual user, and includes the Unu tablet, an airmouse remote, docking station, and HDMI cable for $200. The $250 Gaming Edition contains all the components of the Media Edition, but with the addition of a wireless game controller. Spending some time with the Unu on the E3 show floor, the system seems like a nice plug-and-play solution for those without Smart TV features on their HDTV. The Unu takes full advantage of the Google Play store for games, and accessing social media apps or streaming video via Netflix is a simple affair. Scrolling around with the Bluetooth-enabled airmouse is a bit imprecise, but an Unu rep said the team is still working on calibration. On the plus side, the small keyboard on the back of the remote is a really handy feature. More conveniently, purchasing additional docking stations opens the ability to simply move the Unu tablet from room to room, all without the need for a more expensive Smart TV." via uk.ign.com |

Apple officially announces iOS 7
"As expected, the iOS 7 operating system was announced during the 24th Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. Described as "the biggest change to iOS since the introduction of the iPhone", the new version of iOS packs tons of new features both on the outside and on the inside. The first change is easy to notice. It's like the whole UI of the system has been redrawn by following those "flatter" design principles we heard so many rumors about. Apple has gone with a new font for iOS 7 – sleeker and simpler than before. The icons have been redesigned and now have less of that glossiness they used to have in previous iOS releases. In addition, the color palette of the UI has been expanded. Adding further visual flare to the platform's UI, Apple has sprinkled its look with transparency and translucency effects." Sony to revive the cameraphones with Xperia i1 Honami
Sony Cybershot lineup might be gone for good, but a new imaging-centered smartphone might be in the works. As the latest rumor has it Sony is preparing a monstrous cameraphone - the Xperia i1 Honami. The Honami is rumored to be powered by the latest Snadpragon 800 chipset with a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait 400 processor, Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB of RAM. It should also feature a 5-inch 1080p display with Sony's Triluminos technology (with 50% higher color gamut). The key selling point of the Honami though will be its camera. According to the leaked information we can expect a 16 to 20 megapixel 1/1.6" camera sensor working with Sony's BIONZ imaging processor. A xenon flash should complete the camera package. The rest of the rumored specs include 32GB internal storage, LTE support, a 3000mAh battery unit, 10mm thickness, and water and dust resistance. If this beast is real, it might be one of the hottest names of the holiday season. via gsmarena.com |

New photos of 'thinnest ever' Huawei P6 U06 smartphone leak "There’s a long list of smartphones claiming to be the "world's thinnest" and the Huawei Ascend P6-U06 is the latest in line with a thickness of just 6.18mm. The Android-running phone is yet to be officially announced, but we’ve already seen a second batch of photos, this time showing the phone in black (there's supposed to be a pink version too). The photos give us a better look at the sides of the Ascend P6-U06 and they seem metallic, similar to the previous iPhone design. On the right side of the device there are two card slots – microSIM and microSD presumably that require an ejector tool to open. The 3.5mm audio jack seems to be positioned on the left side. The earlier leak had some specs to go along with the image – 4.7" 720p screen (312ppi), Android 4.1.2, 1.5HGz quad-core processor in a Hisilicon K3V2 chipset with 2GB of RAM, 8MP main camera and 2MP front-facing camera, plus 32GB of built-in storage. The Huawei Ascend P6-U06 measures 132.6 x 65.5 x 6.18mm and the weighs 120g." via gsmarena.com |
